No Better Alibi is a story about a quest for the truth and a rescue mission that will bring two brothers and their friends face to face with death and destruction. Theirs is a future where things can only go from bad to worse. A future where nothing, not even life itself, is sacred.
About Andrew Donaldsson
Andrew Donaldsson is my pen name, my real name is Dr Donald A J Brooks, known by many as Don and by a few from my younger days as John. I have had a varied career having studied at university in London and then Nottinghamshire where I went on to teach mathematics before serving in the eighties as an RAF Officer. After a short spell in industry, I worked for the Ministry of Defence before seeing out my career in senior management roles in Further Education. During my career, I have written engineering texts, sports coaching manuals, and I completed my Doctoral thesis way back in 2001. Having been an accomplished sports competitor and coach I also wrote a series of articles published in the local evening Gazette in the late nineties on training for and competing in the London Marathon. As I was nearing the end of the field research for my first non-fiction book focused on grassroots coaching the lockdown put the project on hold. However, inspired by a quote attributed to the French philosopher Albert Camus, I embarked on a new project and set about writing No Better Alibi. I am now working on the sequel No Lesser Evil with the aim to publish, as Andrew Donaldsson, in the late summer of 2025.
